Yeah, I'm late with this. Deal.

So, 2011. The year in which:

  1. I got a full time job (in one place, where I wasn't a sub) for the first time evar.

  2. I got a new car that I'm paying for myself, meaning that I've got another leg into my big-girl panties.

  3. My grandfather passed away.

  4. Started stepping out of my comfort zone with fic. Holy shit, I write for more than Final Fantasy?!

  5. I decided that [personal profile] jukeboxhound is too damn far away most of the time and things need to be done to remedy this situation.
The Fic of 2011

January

...I've got nothing, guys.

February

Title: Prepared
Fandom: Sengoku Basara
Characters: Azai Nagamasa, Oichi
Rating: G
Word count: 188
Notes: For [community profile] 15_minute_fic Holy crap, NagaIchi. Kinda spoilery for the Oda's intent with Oichi and Nagamasa, but if you've read the TVTropes entries, you should be fine. I think this is some sort of cross between the anime and the games.

Title: Foolproof Letter Scheme
Fandom/original: G.I. Joe I know nothing about this fandom, except for what I've read of Crystal of Ellinon, Totenkinder Madchen, and Joepedia.
Characters: Hawk, Flint, Lady Jaye, Storm Shadow, Snake Eyes
Rating: G
Word count: 911
Summary: Valentine's Day does not happen at the Pit. Valentine's Day happens to the Pit.
Notes: Fic for a fandom I never thought I'd write. Birthday fic for [info]artimusdin, with her prompt "Valentine's Day at the Pit". It... kind of got away from that, but I think the spirit of it is still there.
Warnings: Baby's first fic in the fandom, fangirl keigo, fourth wall leaning, out of character, pepperjacking, rampant weeabooism, shout outs, showing and not telling.

Title: Dishing It Out
Fandom: Final Fantasy VII
Characters: Aerith, Cloud, Sephiroth, Zack
Prompt: 39. Taste
Rating: G
Word Count: 483
Notes: Prompt from asking for random numbers for [profile] fanfic_100 from [info]artimusdin. Also an attempt at writing from a female POV more often, as discussed in a recent post by [info]jukeboxhound.

March

Title: Meeting of the Minds
Fandom/original: Final Fantasy VII
Characters: Tifa and Cloud
Rating: G
Word count: 179
Notes: For [community profile] 15_minute_fic. In which the truth does not set Tifa free.

Title: Reading (Goes to [community profile] yuri_challenge on Dreamwidth.)
Creator: [info]chofi
Rating: PG
Warning: Spoilers through episode 7.
Word Count: 607
Prompt: Taishou Yakyuu Musume: Akiko/Koume, like a marriage

April 2011

Title: "...or Boogie"
Fandom/original: Final Fantasy VIII
Characters: Quistis and Rinoa
Rating: G
Word count: 253
Notes: I half-remember reading something on [info]the_trepies about how Quisits would drag Rinoa into SeeD training almost immediately after the whole mess with Ultimecia. This is an extension of it. Also an attempt to pass the Bedchel Test, because I seriously need to do that.

May 2011

Title: "Questions, Comments, or Concerns"
Fandom/original: Final Fantasy VII
Characters: Zack and hapless OC's
Rating: G
Word count: 100
Notes: AU. AU. AU. Zack's female, a university TA, and working for one of my FFVII OC's. This is the type of high-grade WTF that comes with a decade of friendship.

Title: "Conservation of Energy"
Fandom/original: The Twelve Kingdoms
Characters: Gyousou and Taiki
Rating: PG - 13
Word count: 100
Notes: [info]canis_m asked for Gyousou and Taiki or for Fang and Vanille. Both of these pairings, experts agree, are made of win. I attempted the Fang and Vanille to get to write some sort of femmeslash but it didn't seem to go anywhere, so GyouTai it was.

Title: "When I Was"
Fandom/original: Final Fantasy VII
Characters: Cloud and Sephiroth
Rating: R
Word count: 100
Notes: [info]jukeboxhound wanted Sephiroth/Cloud, with the prompt "There was history here." Of course, of course my brain goes into the angst place and never looks back.

Title: "The One that I Want"
Fandom/original: Final Fantasy VII
Characters: Zack and Cloud
Rating: R
Word count: 100
Notes: [info]tir_synni wanted Zack and Cloud crack. And then there was this post. Yeah, now you know about the title, and knowing is half the battle.

Title: "Joint Writing"
Fandom/original: Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII
Characters: Genesis, Angeal, Sephiroth
Rating: PG
Word count: 780
Summary: "To suffer temporary setbacks because of a machine was one thing. To suffer temporary setbacks because of a human playing at machine was quite another."
Notes: [info]jukeboxhound asked me about My Thoughts on Penmanship. And then this happened. I wanted some sort of "lol wut Genesis is a gold plated effete bastard" fic, but this came out instead.

June, July, August, September, and October 2011

Yeah, I've got nothing. I was working 50+ hours a week on a split schedule and trying to mantain a strong and willing façade. It didn't work. No, I didn't forget about the prompt post.

November 2011

Title:"In Which I Rant... About a Muhmorpuhguh?"
Fandom/original: Omnitopia Dawn
Characters: Self-Insert, with mentions of Dev and Phil
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: 376
Notes: I wanted some sort of fic that dealt with the little guys around the world while the events of Omnitopia Dawn rolled out. I get that Rik is supposed to be our Everyman, but fuck, not everyone's going to be in this game, right? Also, it's been a while since I've done a good self-insert.

December 2011

Title: "Tonight's Special is Impotent Rage"
Fandom/original: Set in some sort of weird side-pocket 'verse of the Stephanie Plum series. A collaboration with [personal profile] artimusdin.
Characters: The Plum Family, minus the Plum-Kloughns; three OC's
Rating: R
Word Count: 544
Notes: My OC's should die in a fire The beginning (?) of a collaboration with [personal profile] artimusdin. The outcome of random conversations on AIM while I was reading Seven Up.

I've also got: I'll probably be sticking around ElJay, EyeJay, and DeeDoubleYu (chofi at all of them) mostly. I've got an idea for some tumblr shenanigans, but that will likely stay on my own. When I decide to update it. One day.
