So, MSN had this article on the declining numbers of male teachers. There's a feedback button linking to a message board, and so, people will share their thoughts on yaoi education. Cue wank over pay, loss of control, accountability, NCLB, harassment accusations used as payback for discipline, and those damn spoiled hoodlum kids and their crazy rock-and-roll music electronics.

As a male college student looking to become a high school social studies teacher, I find these comments interesting. I think it's unfortunate that there are so few male teachers. I can see how children coming from broken homes, especially boys, would look up to a strong example of male leadership and concern. Sadly, feminism has weakened the role men are able to play in our culture to exert a strong impact among youth. Men are sometimes seen as being unable to relate well with kids, perceived as a threat to them, or viewed as relegated to specific jobs while women take on the teaching roles.

I'm just boggling that he wants to teach social studies and doesn't understand the goals of feminism. Understanding is kind of important in social studies, particularly, when, oh, it affects society.
