As a male college student looking to become a high school social studies teacher, I find these comments interesting. I think it's unfortunate that there are so few male teachers. I can see how children coming from broken homes, especially boys, would look up to a strong example of male leadership and concern. Sadly, feminism has weakened the role men are able to play in our culture to exert a strong impact among youth. Men are sometimes seen as being unable to relate well with kids, perceived as a threat to them, or viewed as relegated to specific jobs while women take on the teaching roles....
