I also fought and lost with some other base instincts and bought The Kingdom of the Gods before rereading the rest of the Inheritance Trilogy like I'd wanted to do. I'm... kind of at around page 200. Sigh. I think I'll finish The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms anyhow, because I have some sort of off the wall idea of Nahadoth being a form of the Slender Man (That should be the other way around, shouldn't it?), and I need to take notes on why I suddenly came upon this idea.
My thoughts on The Kingdom of the Gods so far are that it's kind of fun that Sieh taps on the fourth wall pretty often. (It's not like there wasn't any fourth wall tapping in the past two books...) The formula of "main character Starts Shit unaware, must find out the Shit Started, prevent Further Shit from Happening" is force, but I find I don't mind.
