It's sort of sad that I started thinking about the incoming wank (Aerith vs. Aeris, part quatre!) and Fandom!Secrets, rather than the influx of new fan work (as was my reaction for each release in the Compilation). Jaded fan is jaded.

Hell, I want to see if the spelling and grammar mistakes were corrected. I'm sure that I'll catch wind of the fallout should any mention of the Comp make it into this version of the script.

Considering the conversations I've been seeing over the Comp of FFVII and other Square-Enix games with extended canon (FFX, FFXII) and how there is sort of a Puritan movement with said games, I've got to wonder: has any one ever decided to pull a Martin Luther and write a list of grievances and justification for said grievances and then slap that on the wall of, say, the Square-Enix store in Tokyo?

Sephiroth stared at the mako pooling at the base of the fountain. The glare was almost too much, but he couldn't look away. The light dimmed and flared, defying pattern recognition. But, were he to look for long enough...

"But how is it that when we use materia, we can use magic, too?"

Sephiroth tore himself from the glow of the fountain. Zack, Strife, and the guide sprung into existence. Once they manifested, the rest of the world followed. The mission. Nibel mako reactor. Zack was proving his usefulness in unorthodox ways. Again. "You're in Soldier and don't know that?"

So, the recent Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix Wright debacle and a discussion on FFVII old meme inspired me to Google my fan-self.

I expected some ancient fanart from the epic Mary Sue fic I did during high school. (I've done this before, yeah.) Instead, I found this ancient character generator quiz I made for the same Mary Sue fic. I mean, holy shit. I forgot I ever made it.

Am being naughty and posting from work. Highlights of the past two weeks, in bullet format:

• Caved and bought a PSP and War of the Lions. I am still an Agrias fangirl. I'm sad that the new translation got rid of "I got a good feeling!" Damn it, they included it in FFXII! They can still keep it around. Though, they did include a new line about how not even a spoony bard would have as many ideals as Ramza. <3


• Lost cards are replaced. Fraud reports sent in. I'm gathering my wealth for Christmas, and the flood of things that I'm planning on for folks.


• Finally, finally got to hang out with yohtan and amande_san after what seems an age. We stayed at my house for a bit, catching up, and then went to IHOP and Barnes and Noble. Saw a copy of Empire of Ivory, but I want to wait until I've made it a ways into my queue before getting new things.


• Finished Virtual Light. Gibson hearts the MacGuffin like burning.


• My first fic in a good month.

So, it seems that Cait, Red, OGD!Vincent, OGD!Yuffie, and OGD!Sephiroth are going to be added to the Play Arts. They look to be at the same scale as the Advent Children Play Arts, so photo shoots will be easy to manipulate. (Hint, hint, fans...)

I now await the Crisis Core Play Arts. Zack and Angeal figures for great justice!

So, I woke up about an hour ago, and went off to the bathroom to prepare for the day. Noticed I burst a blood vessel in my left eye. Lovely. So, after the initial "Oh, crap," I started thinking about a chat conversation last night that started with semen glowing from mako and ended with me getting SERIOUS BIZNESS! on a "defend your dissertation" level (I'm sorry, everyone. I acted like a bitter turd. I fail at having a thick skin.).

Anyway, the mako in semen conversation lead to me going off to Wiki and thinking up something. Basically: "Mako goes into bloodstream, blood feeds muscles and transports nutrients. Mako is carried to muscles and into fluids. Iris and spooge glow." And that got me to thinking: "You know, if a Soldier burst a vessel, it'd probably be some of the scariest shit ever."

It also led to my attempting to refine my "mako in the bloodstream" idea (something about the dead Jenova cells in Soldiers enabling mako molecules to "glamour" themselves as whatever molecules are allowed into a particular point in the body), realizing that I have not the anatomy and physiology license points for that, and thinking, "Hey, this might make an interesting post."

And here we are.

That's the only reason why they do this to me.

I like Cloud's face. It's pretty, but it's not frail-uke-princess-hold-me levels of pretty. He's a blond in his early twenties, and in personal experience blond males tend to stay baby-faced a bit longer. The same goes for his lean frame. It fits. I'm sure this is all to give a bit better credence to the Wall Market event in my mind.

I also like that the Buster Sword looks like it's gone through hell, because it has. I could get wanky over the fact that it's the original design and not the one shown in Advent Children/Crisis Core, but this is also OGC!design Cloud (see belt and Soldier insignia).

Also, he's got a pretty nice ass.

This year, my towel is a shrunken beach towel of a sunset and dolphins. The colors are dark, appropriate for mourning, and you can't forget the dolphins. I think I'll go through Hitchhiker's again today, even if it's out of my queue's order.

No one'd happen to have an mp3 of "So Long, and Thanks for all the Fish," would they? You know your Google-fu is weak when the mp3's you've found are poorer in sound quality than the opening found on You Tube.

Today's also the thirtieth anniversary of the release of Star Wars, so I thought I'd do a few things to commemorate. So, links and icons.
