Fandom: Final Fantasy VII
Characters: Cloud, with special guest appearances by Zack, Reno and Rod, and some Sephiroth fanboyism.
Rating: G.
Prompt: 063. Summer.
Words: 249
Notes: Ah, summer classes. I'm sure Cloud, being a mountain boy, would suffer more than most.
Cloud's brain was melting, and yet his instructors insisted on continuing classes. The fan was doing nothing but making an annoying humming noise and blowing papers around with warm air. The instructor's droning matched the fan, and the heat was making him sleepy. The topic, ice materia, was making it all seem like torture, especially since it wasn't even a practical class.
When the torture was finally over, Cloud concentrated on dragging himself to mess. Something lukewarm and semi-edible might do him some good. At least there'd be something cool to drink.
And that was when he got hit with a stream of cold water.
"Out of the way, Spike! You're in the line of fire!" Zack was charging at him, a water gun in each hand. He shoved Cloud aside, neatly spun around, and fired. "Hey, no civilian casualties!" Zack yelled. The Soldier turned again and continued running down the hall. Soon after, a pair of Turks in messy suits followed, running down the hall and firing off water guns just like Zack had.
Cloud blamed the hallucination on the heat. It would all be best. Superiors didn't act like that, after all. Just look at General Sephiroth. The Silver General would never act like that. He was better than that. Better than most certainly, and definitely better than most of Soldier.
It still didn't change the fact that he was dripping, and his notes were still turning to mush.
Better his notes than his brain, Cloud supposed.
