I'm in yur remake, bringing the converts

chofi: (Balthier - less than three)

So, it seems that the Goddamn Han Solo (slightly mussed) will be making an appearance in the FFT remake. I now have crazy hopes for it. For one, that he's a playable character. (Which means I'll have to make a female archer named Fran.) It makes me wonder what his squire-default class would be like. It also makes me wonder the bonuses of his squire-default class. For my tastes, it's that he'd be the only male to use the perfumes (Chantage + Balthier = <3). He whines about the dirty state of his clothes and how he'd like baths, so it'd make sense. Sort of how since Cloud did the cross-dressing thing, he gets to equip Ribbons.

I'd probably go with making him Squire-Time Mage. I suppose that CT5->Meteor is Element of Treachery?

And come on, Squeenix, make sure he's related to Mustadio and Besrodio.

The last thing is that Cloud, Aeris, and the not!Elmdor Sephiroth clone stay in, since if they're not those crazy-ass VII fans will go batshit. And then it'll bring down the "Only true FF fans know that VII is the evil one of the series!" wank.

And, ah, I guess that Balthier/Cloud would now be plausible. Huh. It's a crossover crack pairing, and yet it's now more plausible than some Suikoden pairings.

The other news of that post is that Dark Knight is now a class. Huh. I just tend to use T.G. Cid and go to town.

ETA:
Translated (I hope accurately) from Final Fantasy World:

According to some well-informed Japanese sources, the developers of Final Fantasy Tactics: the Lion War (PSP) approved the inclusion of Balthier, one of the heroes of FFXII, into the game. In the original episode, released on the Playstation in 1997, one could recruit a somewhat disoriented Cloud (of FFVII, of course).

Now, Balthier will join Ramza's entourage (therefore, he'll be playable) on the search for the treasures of Glabados. Superficially, this part of his story isn't based on FFXII or its sequal, Revenant Wings.

This new guest star is cast as a freelancer accused of heresy. He has a perfect mastery of engineering, technologies from an ancient time. Hehe, don't forget that FFT is set years after FFXII. But that's not to say that he lived that long: stop with the weird theories. If he appears in the FFT remake, it will probably be a small cameo. That said, an amusing detail must be noted: one of Balthier's descendants is already a part of the game's cast. He'll be with Mustadio, also an engineer. Have the developers planned a surprise meeting?

Let's hope to learn more in future issues of Japanese magazines.
