Title: "The Man Who Falls Down at Your Door"
Fandom: Final Fantasy VII
Prompt: 84. He.
Characters: Cloud, Tifa, random NPC's
Rating: PG-13-ish. Some foul language, if that bothers you.
Notes: Yes, the title was inspired by the song "I Would Walk Five Hundred Miles." I don't know why it pinged, but it did, and it sort of fits? Kind of? Maybe? I've got nothing.

Totally inspired by the recent Crisis Core trailer.

The train down to the slums was just as he remembered it: crowded, shitty lighting, the smell of smoke and booze. The other riders gave him a dirty look now and then; they didn't know he was through with Shinra and Soldier, and about as pissed off with the Company as they were. Funny that when he'd just made First Class, he wanted all the attention, and now...

...need to get to Midgar.

Now he just had to get down to the slums, and... he'd take it from there. He was good at thinking on his feet; all Soldiers had to be. He'd figure it out.

The conductor was yelling something about the end of the line. Everyone else in the car hauled ass like he was Sephi--like he was The Bastard and wanted to kill them. He got up, made sure the Buster was set on his back, and walked to the door. Wasn't like the train was going anywhere. He turned to the conductor and gave him the little smile that used to work on the desk jockeys. "Soldier. You know how it is." He ran a hand through his hair--damn thing always got in the fucking way--and blacked out before he could get off the train.

Really fucking smooth, there.

He woke up to find an angel standing over him.

"Are you all right?"

Brown hair, brown eyes. He knew the voice. "Tifa?"

He got up. Buster was all right, set beside him. Brown hair, brown eyes. The voice was a bit lower now, sounded older, but he damn well knew a friend when he heard one. "Tifa!" Nothing to doubt now.

She threaded her fingertips in his hair, brushed her hands down his cheek. She had callused fingertips. "Oh, Cloud!"

"That's right, I'm Cloud."

Well, personal observation. I haven't been really into FFVII as of late.

I like this. I have a hard time putting it in coherent words, but - I got a good picture of Cloud's "I'm an cool Ex-SOLDIER who's newly become a devil-may-care bastard mercenary. Except I'm totally not and Woob King!" from what you wrote.

This is exactly what I was going for. It's good that the message was picked up.
